Albergo Santa Chiara

This is a fully staffed hotel with 24-hour front desk. The service was excellent and staff was very responsive. The “standard double” room was very basic, but clean and comfortable. Both the room and bathroom were reasonably large. There was a fridge and a small safe (too small for larger laptop), and a bottle of water was provided. The Wi-Fi was incredibly fast. There wasn’t any in-room tea/coffee and no slippers or separate shampoo/conditioner, but given the room price, this was fine. The hotel offers breakfast which we opted out of. Some reviews complain about the hard mattress and it was indeed very firm, as were the pillows, but this is a matter of personal taste and was fine for us. This isn’t a “luxury” hotel, but the location is fantastic; barely a minute walk to the Pantheon, just 15–20-minute walk from most major tourist sites, and five minutes from a bus stop. The room price was very reasonable for such a great, central location.

Stayed here several times, and always a good experience. Can’t comment on the breakfast, as we go out to one of the many nearby places. When I messed up the room safe and could not get it open, the staff was there in a jiffy to open it with their master key, and showed me what I was doing wrong. Rooms have nice windows, with shutters, so you can easily adjust the light, ventilation, and privacy!

Great location and very clean. Strangely they took copies of both of our passports. We have never had that happen to us before. The AC was cold and worked!. Old school physical key. Room was a decent size. Large bathroom. Shower was a bit awkward to use . Not enough room inside the shower. Narrow rectangular shape. Pull help cord in the shower not a bathroom fan. Only shower gel in the shower. No shampoo or conditioner . Liquid hand soap by the sink also. No lotion. Free water in the mini fridge. 1 sparkling and 1 stilled water. Room is very clean. The whole hotel is clean and smells clean. Breakfast had many options and is great( bacon, scrambled eggs, cold cuts, granola, yogurt, fruit, crossaint, toast, cream cheese, pies, muffin, coffee, espresso machine etc etc). No iron in the room but upon request it is provided. Many stairs and hallways. Take a picture of the route to your room that's posted behind your room door. Easy to get lost otherwise. They have tiny elevators but were preferred to use the stairs. Room was quiet as requested . Location is fantastic, just a few steps from the pantheon etc. Took the leonardo express and bus 40 to the hotel. Bus stop is less than a 5 min walk to the hotel.

Best choice, rooms - I asked the reception for a quiet one and he responded and upgraded my room-, breakfast was amazing 10/10, room service was excellent, location 100/100 you will be near every thing. I enjoyed in this hotel more than my previous one although it was 5 stars resort but the location was far away from tourists attractions. Thank you for all the staff.

The Albergo Santa Chiara was the perfect hotel for my wife & I to start our honeymoon in Italia. Staff are professional and attentive. A well taken care of & super clean hotel. The breakfast every morning was a great way start to our day. Location being right behind the Pantheon and situated centrally for walking to see sights in different directions every day and night was a big reason we stayed here. A perfect 5 days and loved our second visit to Roma even more! As another reviewer stated while I was looking up the Albergo Santa Chiara prior to booking: I can't put into words how much I loved staying at this hotel!

The location of the hotel, the view of my room was great. Staff working in the breakfast area was really helpful. Rooms are old fashioned, but seemed clean. On the other hand, I had one of the most unfortunate conversation with one of the old staff who I believe to be the manager (not sure) I wanted host a friend of mine in my room. But that guy ran all the way up to my room from the stairs to threaten me to kick off my friend, otherwise he would call the police. I was embarrassed to my friend, and the other people in the hotel by this behavior. And this was a very unprofessional behavior which I've never seen before in any other hotel in the world (whether it's cheap or expensive one) So keep in mind, the behavior of the some of the staff might be out of their line and might upset you. In short, I would not recommend here to anyone.
